April 5, 2007 (HOUSTON, TX)…This past weekend, more than 300 national and 
      international sporting clays shooters converged on American Shooting 
      Centers, located in George Bush Park, in Houston for the annual Browning/Briley 
      World Sporting Clays Open Championships. Competitive shooters from nearly 
      all 50 states, as well as other countries, participated in several 
      sporting clays target events.  
        
      Wendell Cherry won the Main Event and was crowned as the new High Overall 
      (HOA) champion and Ashley Hafley was crowned as the HOA Lady champion on 
      Sunday night at Browning/Briley Hall at ASC. In addition to a trophy, 
      custom made rings by Hinz Jewelers were presented to both by Willie Hinz. 
      Wendell Cherry took home a cash prize of $2500. More than $50,000 total in 
      cash, prizes and trophies were awarded to those placing in several events.

         “The participant turnout 
        was larger than in prior years and that made for a more exciting event 
        than ever before,” said Mo Parsons, president and COO of ASC. “It was 
        incredible to see so many skilled marksmen from all around the world in 
        one place and we intend to keep building on that momentum going 
        forward.”

        Pennsville, New Jersey won the 100 Target NSCA (National Sporting Clays 
        Association) 5-Stand

        Angelo, Texas won the Side by Side event

        Angelo, Texas also won HOA in the 50 Target Briley small shotgun gauge 
        events 
         
       
        American Shooting Centers 
        plays host to approximately 140 major corporate and charity events 
        throughout the year – both small gatherings for company team building or 
        client development programs, very large programs for corporate special 
        events, charity events for organizations such as the Museum of Fine 
        Arts, MD Anderson Hospital, etc. and competitive contests. ASC 
        coordinates an annual fundraising event for the Cystic Fibrosis 
        Foundation and has raised a total of more than $1.7 million for the 
        charity.
